Lucknow, April 18: An officer of the Lucknow unit of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) located in Gomti Nagar has lodged an FIR in the Mahanagar police station after finding 20 fake notes. After the fake notes were found in the Reserve Bank of India, the officials have increased vigilance and strictness.
Mahanagar police station in-charge Akhilesh Mishra said on Friday that an FIR related to fake notes has been registered on the complaint received from the Reserve Bank of India. Agencies associated with the Lucknow unit of the Reserve Bank of India, from where fake notes are likely to come, will be questioned. The amount of fake notes is being ascertained.
The police station in-charge said that at present, the Mahanagar police station has been declared as the zonal police station of the Reserve Bank of India. For this, all the FIRs of the Reserve Bank of India are registered here. Even before this, FIRs have been registered in the Mahanagar police station on finding fake notes, on which action has also been taken.
