Lucknow, 23 October: Farmers in Lucknow have staged protest on getting three lakh ten thousand rupees less in the fixed compensation for the piece of land for the Lucknow Development Authority’s (LDA) Mohan Road Housing Scheme Phase One.

The farmers reached the old LDA office situated at Lalbagh area in Lucknow, and protested and demanded their full amount.

Officials and farmers of the farmers’ organization Bharatiya Kisan Union Ara said that all the schemes start only after taking the land of the farmers. When the land is taken, the circle rate of that time is told to be low. After this, the amount of compensation is reduced.

They said that land was taken from the farmers of Pyarepur and Kaliakheda villages on Mohan Road in the name of Housing Scheme Phase One. Despite the difference in the rate at the time of giving compensation and the current rate, the farmers agreed to take the money. Still, with the connivance of the employees of LDA, they are getting three lakh ten thousand rupees less.

The employees and officers of LDA looking after the Mohan Road housing scheme met the farmers and listened to them. After which the Secretary of LDA was asked to hold talks with the farmers. Despite this, the farmers are still present at the spot.
