Ahmedabad, 20 November: A case has been registered at Chandkheda police station against Australian youth Wayne Johnson, who reached the middle of the field during the Cricket World Cup final match between India and Australia at Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.

He is accused of trying to disturb Virat Kohli by pushing a policeman into the field and trying to hug him. There is no mention in the FIR regarding the slogan written on his T-shirt.

The final match was being held on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. During Indian batting, Australian citizen Ben Johnson jumped over the railing and entered the field. He ran towards Virat and tried to hug him. Slogans of ‘Stop Bombing Palestine’ and ‘Free Palestine’ were written on the youth’s T-shirts.

Seeing the young man in the field, the policemen caught him. Later, Chandkheda police took him with them.

The agencies have also started an investigation into the suspicion of the youth’s association with any terrorist organization. According to Chandkheda police sources, an FIR has been registered against Australian youth Ben Johnson. There are already three cases registered against him in Australia. The young man’s father is from China and his mother is from Palestine.

Preliminary information revealed that he is a fan of Virat Kohli, and that is why he tried to go close to Virat and hug him. Questions are also being raised about the young man breaking the three-tier security system to reach the pitch.

In the presence of Crime Branch officials, the young man jumped over the railing and reached the field. There were 6 thousand police personnel around the stadium and about 10 thousand policemen outside. Despite this, the young man reached the pitch.
