Ayodhya, July 2: At least 10 days before the pran pratishtha (idol consecration) of Ram Lalla at Ram temple in Ayodhya, around five lakh temples throughout the country will organise different religious rituals.

These rituals will feature nama-sankirtan (congregational singing of holy names), among other things, according to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust general secretary Champat Rai.

“The RSS possesses the necessary experience to organise such large-scale events. Everyone cannot travel to Ayodhya for Ram Lalla’s pran pratishtha. The RSS plans to hold nama-sankirtan and other events in approximately five lakh temples across the country,” Rai told reporters. “These events will begin at least ten days before Ram Lalla’s pran pratishtha. There are around 2.5 lakh gram panchayats, practically all of which contain a temple.

Another 2.5 lakh temples in all districts will host these activities in order to make the entire country ‘Ram Maye’ (full of devotion to Ram). “The Trust will also issue specific instructions that no event will be held on roads or city crossings,” he said.

Members of the Trust are working on making plans for the lakhs of worshippers who will visit Ayodhya for the idol consecration, which is scheduled for January 15, 2024, after Makar Sankranti. “Doordarshan will telecast the pran pratishtha live,” Rai stated.

“The Sikh community can organise path (of Guru Granth Sahib) events in gurudwaras, and the Jain community can organise events in temples based on their culture,” Rai explained.
