The operation was carried out in the presence of police and paramilitary personnel to maintain law and order situation. This action went to pave the way for the proposed road widening project. During this, the police completely closed the way towards Jhandewala Mata Temple on Rani Jhansi Marg.

According to eyewitnesses, a large number of police and CRPF personnel along with JCBs of the Public Works Department arrived here at around 4 am. After this this action was started. The anti-encroachment campaign lasted for about seven hours. This route is usually very busy. It was a challenge for the Delhi Police to manage the traffic here in the evening due to alleged illegal construction near these two places of worship.
