New Delhi, 9 September: The National Gallery of Modern Art will take the heads of state, delegates and their spouses attending the G20 Summit on a unique journey of India’s five thousand years old civilization and culture with an exhibition titled ‘Roots and Roots – Past Present and Continuous’. This exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday.
In which one can get acquainted with the chariots found in Sinauli and the culture of Indus Saraswati civilization. The exhibition showcases archaeological artefacts, literature, numismatics, epigraphy and paintings.
Raghavendra Singh, curator of the exhibition ‘Roots and Roots’ organized at NGMA, says that it took him 9 months to prepare it. In this, objects of historical and archaeological importance have been brought from every corner of the country.
In this, historical objects have been brought from Amravati, Gandhar, Chandigarh Museum, Kolkata Museum and also from the National Museum. In this, the 5000 years old history of India has been curated on the basis of themes through antiquities. This exhibition is in line with the priorities of the G20.
He said that the name of the exhibition ‘Roots and Roots’ reflects our rich and vast culture and cultural importance. Through this exhibition we are telling the story of our culture.
In this, there is the story of Sinauli Rath which takes us back 4000 to 5000 years, while the Indus Saraswati Civilization, the history of Nalanda, the old fort and many things found from the excavations done in the site museum are displayed. This is a very important exhibition of the Ministry of Culture.
