Lucknow, 21 December: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the resolution of clean Ganga will be fulfilled before Prayagraj Kumbh 2025. The Chief Minister was reviewing the Namami Gange project on Wednesday. During this, he reviewed the progress of the project and instructed the officers to speed up the work and said that STP should be started soon

The meeting of the National Ganga Council is to be held on 30 December. Necessary preparations should be done before this. It may be mentioned here that the first meeting of the National Ganga Council was held in Kanpur in 2019 under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said that Mother Ganga is a unique gift given by nature to Uttar Pradesh. Most of the areas of Ganga ji’s flow are in Uttar Pradesh. It is the center point of our faith and it is also the mainstay of the economy. With the resolve to make Ganga and its tributaries uninterrupted and clean, the ‘Namami Gange Project’, which is continuing under the guidance of the Prime Minister, has seen very satisfactory results. People’s cooperation is also being received in the efforts of the Central and State Government in this campaign to clean Ganga and its tributaries. Today, dolphins have returned to the river Ganges, so the rivers are being made clean by using technology.

A resolution to make Mother Ganga clean before the start of Kumbh 2025 was made. The process of installation of STPs has to be expedited to save the rivers from getting toxic from sewerage dirt and water. More efforts should be made for urban solid waste management to ensure uninterrupted, cleanness of all the rivers including Ganga.

The aim of increasing the income of farmers and promoting non-toxic farming, the state government has seen good results of encouraging natural farming up to 5 km on both the banks of the Ganga. 27 districts in the state are connected with the Ganga.

Apart from this, a special campaign has been started for natural farming in 7 districts of Bundelkhand. At present, natural farming is being done on about 85 thousand hectares of land. This time the production here has been good. Farmers should be made aware with the comparative report of the good results of this zero budget farming. State level Natural Agriculture Board has also been constituted. More and more farmers should be associated with the campaign of natural farming.

So far 66,180 hectare area in the state has been brought under organic farming. More than one lakh farmers are getting benefited from organic farming. All the farmers should be linked to the organic farming portal of the Government of India. To identify and ensure quality of organic products, laboratories should be set up at all divisional headquarters. Similarly, outlets of organic products should also be set up in all agricultural markets. There is immense potential for adventure tourism, water sport tourism here. Due to the efforts of the Prime Minister, there has been an inspiring effort in this direction in Varanasi. We should develop the model of river cruise tourism, water sports, wildlife tourism with camping facilities.
