Ghaziabad, 21 Oct: A student from a college in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was ordered to leave the stage after responding to chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ by fellow students during the fest.
A video of the event, which was extensively circulated on social media, shows a teacher instructing the kid to leave the stage.
The event occurred at the ABES Engineering College, where a cultural celebration was taking place, according to the information. As the student reaches the platform, cries of “Jai Shri Ram” welcome him, to which he answers, “Jai Shri Ram friends.”
Within moments, a teacher identified as Mamata Gautam is seen asking the pupil to off the stage. The teacher can be heard saying in Hindi, “This is a cultural program; such chants are not permitted.”
Meanwhile, the viral video piqued the interest of Ghaziabad Police Commissioner, who took to X and stated that the Crossings police station in-charge had been asked to examine the case and take appropriate action.
Later, Mamata Gautam and another lecturer, Shweta Sharma, were suspended by the college administration for requesting the student to leave the stage before performing his presentation.
