Varanasi,10 February: The Opposition has targeted the UP government on the Global Investors Summit (GIS) which began in state capital Lucknow from Friday. Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav called it a drama of the BJP, while the Congress party dubbed it ?robbery of money of the general public? of the state.

Akhilesh said that BJP is deceiving the public on the pretext of GIS. He taunted and said that if you wear a suit and tie, BJP will get you an MoU. He paid obeisance to Baba Vishwanath on Friday. One Adani is greater than all. The money of the general public, LIC and SBI will sink, he told journalists.

He said that BJP people went to the US, Brazil, Mexico, Europe, London, Singapore and Australia to invite investors. Even after this, when there was a shortage, they went to the industrialists of their districts. “I think MOUs must have been signed in Banaras as well. No one knows how many of the MoUs that were signed in the last investor meet are being implemented.

?When the foundation stone of the Vishwanath Dham corridor was laid, there was an SP government at that time. SP’s cabinet had approved the construction of Vishwanath Dham. Be it land acquisition or construction. I gave the contract on the behest of their union Minister and the electricity which is visible underground in Vishwanath Dham is the gift of socialists. BJP people ask for votes from Baba. This is my prayer to Baba that the words of BJP people should not turn out to be false, if they have talked about investment of ?27 lakh crore, their wishes should be fulfilled and investment of ?5 lakh crore,? he said.

The UP Congress has also targeted the government. State Congress spokesperson Anshu Awasthi said that the BJP government and Chief Minister Adityanath’s intentions regarding the state are not honest. That’s why propaganda is being spread all over the state only in the name of investors’ meet. Earlier in 2018, also the investors’ meet was held.

The youth and the common man of the state want to know that how much investment came from the public money that was wasted last time? How much employment did you get? How helpful was he in the development of the state? The government is neither telling nor speaking anything on that. Instead of actually working, the BJP government is wasting public money in the name of investor summit only by making a spectacle of publicity. This Investors Summit will also prove to be a white elephant like the previous meeting.
