Varanasi, 09 March: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in the temple town on Saturday evening after being made the candidate from Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency for the third consecutive time, was given a grand welcome in royal style amidst blowing of conch shells and shower of flowers like a conquering hero.Â
When the Prime Minister’s convoy left for Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple along with State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath from the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur, BJP workers played drums and showered rose petals amid deafening Modi-Modi slogans. Workers and locals chanted Jai-Jai Shri Ram, Har-Har Mahadev. Seeing the enthusiasm of women workers and locals, the Prime Minister’s convoy also moved forward slowly.
Varanasi District and Metropolitan Unit had created 38 welcome points in the 30 kilometer distance from Babatpur to Baba Vishwanath Temple. Public and BJP workers standing on both ends of the road at the welcome point also raised deafening slogans of Modi-Modi after seeing the Prime Minister in the convoy of vehicles.Â
Seeing the affection and love of the people of his Kashi, the Prime Minister also kept accepting the greetings, sometimes by folding hands and sometimes by shaking hands.Â
The PM Modi convoy passed through Gilat Bazaar Shivpur Tiraha, Bhojubir Tiraha, Kachari Square, Golghar Tiraha, Police Line Tiraha, Cultural Complex, Hukulganj Chowkaghat Tiraha, at the main gate of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Pradeep Hotel located in Jagatganj, Lahurabir, Ram Katora Tiraha, Piplani Katra, Kabir Chaura, Lohatia.
The same scene was seen near Maidagin, Bulanala, Neechibagh, Chowk and Vishwanath Temple.Â
To welcome the Prime Minister, the workers remained standing at the welcome point. During this time, with enthusiasm and passion, the workers along with the citizens kept singing the song ‘Jo Ram Ko Laaye Hai, Hum Unko Laayenge’ along with the slogan of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ carrying the poster of the Prime Minister.
Women and children were also seen excited on the terraces and balconies of their houses to see the Prime Minister and shower flowers on him.Â
Seeing the youth and women standing on both sides of the barricading built on the roadside, the Prime Minister also accepted their greeting with folded hands. People stayed behind the barricades for a long time to get a glimpse of the Prime Minister. Artists welcomed the Prime Minister with a cultural program and presentation of traditional folk dance at Swagat Point Gilat Bazaar. On the other hand, in other areas of the city including Shivpur Bypass, the message of request of the people of Kashi, Modi ji this time unopposed was seen written on big hoardings.
