Gurugram, 27 October: The police have arrested a man accused of editing the photos of women on the social site Instagram to make them obscene. The accused had made 300 fake IDs.
A woman gave a written complaint to the Police Station Cyber Crime West stating that an unknown person had edited/morphed her sister’s photo into an obscene one and posted it on the social media application Instagram. For this he created a fake ID.
After confirming this complaint, a case was registered under relevant sections at Cyber Crime West Police Station.
Vipin Ahlawat, Assistant Police Commissioner, Cyber โโCrime, Gurugram, under the leadership of Inspector Savit Kumar, Manager Police Station, Cyber โโCrime West Gurugram, the police team started the action.
The accused, who committed the crime with technical assistance, was arrested from Palam Vihar, Gurugram on Friday.
The accused was identified as Akash Parmar, resident of Morena (Madhya Pradesh), aged 20 years.
During police interrogation of the accused, it was revealed that he had created about 300 fake Instagram IDs in the name of women. He used to harass them using these fake Instagram IDs.
With the intention of harassing the complainant also, he had made the victim’s photo viral.
