Hamirpur, January 10: A Maulana allegedly converted a sick Hindu woman by performing Islamic rituals at a grave built inside her house. The police have registered a case of forced-conversion on the complaint of the victim and have intensified the investigation.
After the dramatic events that went on all night in Maudha town, the police have finally registered a case of conversion by luring and performing religious rituals by making a shrine in the house of a Hindu family. On Thursday midnight, there was a stir in the town when the alleged Maulana and other people started the activities of Muslim religion in the house of a Hindu family.
After this, the people around informed a person of Hindu organization about the matter and the man of the organization apprised the police about the matter, then the police, sensing the seriousness of the matter, raided the place presently.
The alleged Maulana Huruddin son of Budhu resident of Mohalla Chipthari Mardan Naka Banda, who had been living in different localities of the town for about a decade, lived in the said house. The Maulana started treating the woman Urmila through exorcism.
Urmila told that Baba had said that there is a ghost buried in your house, so some rituals will have to be done by making Baba’s tomb here. And Baba Huruddin was doing the same ritual, in which the program of Qawwalis was going on and he has also got a tomb built in our house. There is no question of religious conversion. We are Hindus and will remain Hindus.
However, the police raided the house late at night and arrested the alleged Maulana along with the Qawwals. On the complaint of woman Urmila, a case has been registered against five people under serious sections including illegal religious conversion and investigation has been intensified.
Additional Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Gupta said on Friday that information was received about religious conversion in a house in Maudha. On which the police took action and registered a case against Huruddin, Meraj Hasan, Irfan and others and arrested four people. While all are being questioned.
