Lucknow, January 19: Deputy Speaker of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly Nitin Agarwal has resigned from the primary membership of the Samajwadi Party (SP).

Nitin Agarwal had won the Hardoi Sadar seat in the 2017 assembly elections on a Samajwadi Party ticket.

Agarwal has written in a letter sent to Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday that he is resigning from the primary membership of the SP.

Nitin Agarwal is the son of former minister Naresh Agarwal. Naresh Agarwal had joined the BJP in the year 2019 after resigning from the SP. This Agarwal family of Hardoi has its own identity. It is believed that whichever party this family lives with, it gets a good edge in the district.
