Chandigarh, August 08: Haryana IAS Nitin Kumar Yadav’s wife committed suicide in Chandigarh late on Sunday evening. The reasons for the suicide are not yet known.
Nitin Yadav has been posted as Home Secretary in Chandigarh last week. The Haryana government was preparing to relieve him on Monday, meanwhile this incident happened.
Meenakshi Yadav, wife of IAS Nitin Yadav, who lived in house number 208 of Sector-18, Chandigarh, was an officer in the Indian Postal Service. She was posted in Ambala. Meenakshi was suffering from mental trouble for some time. Late Sunday evening, she hanged herself in the room. On receiving information about the incident, Sector-19 police station in-charge Malkit Singh and other police team reached the spot and took Meenakshi Yadav to Sector-16 hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
