Heavy rain alert in alert in 26 states

New Delhi, 09 October: The Indian Meteorological Department today has issued a forecast of heavy rain in many states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Gujarat, West Madhya Pradesh. The department has issued an orange alert for heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Tamil Nadu on Sunday. Yellow alert has been issued for 23 states including Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh.

According to the Meteorological Department, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and parts of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Telangana, Puducherry, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to receive light to moderate rain and thundershowers with strong wind and thundershowers at isolated places over Sikkim. The department has issued orange and yellow alert in these 26 states.

Normal life is disrupted in Uttar Pradesh due to incessant rains for the last few days. Many rivers are in spate, there is a flood-like situation in many districts. According to the forecast of the department, heavy rain is expected in many districts including Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lucknow, Kanpur, Unnao, Pratapgarh, Faizabad, Gorakhpur, Gonda, Basti, West Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Meerut, Saharanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad and Rampur on Sunday.

The Meteorological Department has predicted more rain in Delhi-NCR on Sunday. Meanwhile, it has been said that due to incessant rains in some parts of Delhi, the air quality has improved and it has come down to the ‘good’ category and the mercury has also come down. Due to the rain in Delhi and adjoining areas for the last two days, there has been a change in the weather, but people are facing new problems. Traffic was disrupted in many parts on Saturday. People had to struggle with jam for hours. Waterlogging has occurred in many areas.
