Kanpur, August 12: Most of the books in IIT Kanpur’s library and research books have been translated into Hindi, the remaining ones are being translated. Hindi speaking students are also studying translated books and the demand for Hindi is also increasing. Thus, the scope of Hindi is continuously increasing in IIT. These things were said by IIT’s Deputy Director Prof Braj Bhushan on Monday.
The Official Language Cell at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) organized a five-day training program on Hindi typing and Hindi word processing.
This initiative, organized under the Hindi Teaching Scheme of the Official Language Department of the Home Ministry of the Government of India, was guided by IIT Kanpur’s Deputy Director Prof Braj Bhushan. Assistant Director of Hindi Teaching Scheme Nawaz Sharif conducted the training from Mirpur Cantt, Kanpur.
The training saw active participation of 28 officers and staff from various departments of the Institute, reflecting a strong commitment to enhance their proficiency in Hindi typing and word processing.
The overall direction of the programme was done by Professor Dr Ark Verma, in-charge of Rajbhasha Cell, ensuring that the training was in line with the objectives of the Institute. After the five-day programme, Institute Registrar Vishwa Ranjan awarded certificates to the participants in recognition of their efforts.
He motivated the participants to apply their newly acquired skills by increasing the use of Hindi in their daily official work, thereby contributing to the broader goal of promoting the use of Hindi in the Institute.
The closing ceremony was conducted by Senior Technical Superintendent Jagdish Prasad, while Hindi Officer Vijay Kumar Pandey presented the vote of thanks.
