Azamgarh, 07 November: A history-sheeter was shot dead by bike-borne miscreants near a tube well located in Sadarpur Barauli village of Phulpur Kotwali of the district on Monday evening, police said.
According to the police, police reached the spot after receiving information and took possession of the body and sent it for autopsy. The police launched a manhunt for the miscreants.
Belal (28), resident of Sadarpur Barauli village of Phulpur Kotwali, was shot dead at around 9 pm near Durvasha road by the bike-borne shooters who opened fire at him. Belal was seriously injured by the bullet after this the unknown assailants fled from the spot.
A per local police, As soon as information about the murder was received, local police, along with CO Lalganj, SP Rural, SOG and forensic team reached the spot and started investigating the incident.
SP Anurag Arya said that Belal sitting on the tubewell was shot dead. All the officers, forensic and the Special Operation Group (SOG) team are also investigating on the spot. Two teams have been formed under the leadership of SOG. Cases of cow slaughter and two gangster cases was registered against the deceased from 2019 to 2023. Meanwhile, there is complete peace and law and order situation is under control.
