Guwahati, 18 June: A sensational suicide incident took place in Guwahati city. A top bureaucrat of the state allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with his service revolver in a private hospital.
It is reported that Home Departments Secretary Shiladitya Chetia, 44, committed this incident today. This incident took place in a room of Nemcare Hospital in the city.
It is known that his wife, who was undergoing treatment, died today. After this he committed this crime. Chetia was on leave for the last two months due to personal problems.
He had taken leave for the treatment of his wife, who was suffering from an incurable disease. His wife was undergoing treatment. But even after prolonged treatment, the wife did not recover. Today his wife breathed her last on the hospital bed.
After this, the senior IPS officer, suffering from mental instability, decided to commit suicide by going to a remote room in the hospital and shooting himself in the head with his service revolver. Police reached the spot, took the body in their possession and started investigation.
