New Delhi, March 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday at the Lakhpati Didi Conference organized in Navsari district of Gujarat on the occasion of International Women’s Day that I am the richest person in the world because I have the blessings of crores of mothers and sisters.
The Prime Minister said that today on this day, I can proudly say that I am the richest person in the world. When I say that I am the richest person in the world, many people’s ears will perk up. Today the entire troll army will come into the field, but I will still repeat that I am the richest person in the world. I have the blessings of crores of mothers, sisters and daughters in my life’s account and these blessings are constantly increasing, that’s why I say that I am the richest person in the world.
He said that I got the blessings of Mother Ganga in Maha Kumbh and today in this Maha Kumbh of Matri Shakti, I got the blessings of all you mothers and sisters. Today is Women’s Day, my motherland Gujarat and the presence of such a large number of mothers, sisters and daughters, I bow my head to the mother power for your love, affection and blessings on this special day.
Modi said that from this land of Gujarat, I also wish all the countrymen, all the mothers and sisters of the country a Happy Women’s Day.
The Prime Minister said that Muslim women were demanding a law for their protection in the case of triple talaq. Through the Muslim Women (Protection of Marriage Rights) Act, 2019, we have saved their lives from being ruined. When Article 370 was in force in Kashmir, they were not given many rights. If they married outside the state, their property rights were taken away. After the abolition of Article 370, now they have got equal rights like every woman in the country.
He said that by providing toilets (Izzat Ghar) for women, we have given them respect. We have empowered them by opening their bank accounts. We have given them health benefits through the Ujjwala Yojana. Earlier, working women used to get only 12 weeks of maternity leave, but we have increased it to 26 weeks.
