Morigaon (Assam), 4 August : A private madarsa named Jamiul Huda, which was running illegally in Marabari in Morigaon district, was bulldozed by the police on Thursday morning on charges of indulging in jihadi activities. The madarsa was sealed on July 28.
Eight jihadis and members of their sleeper cell, including Mufti Mustafa Ahmed of the madarsa were arrested on July 28. Police today arrested Mufti’s wife Jasmina Khatoon and Mufti’s brother Zakaria Ahmed for destroying facts related to Jihadi activities.
Police are seriously investigating cases related to jihadi activities in Morigaon and Barpeta districts. All the arrested are said to be members of Ansarul Bangla Team (ABT). NIA team has also reached to interrogate 9 jihadis arrested in Barpeta and their sleeper cell.
