Income Tax raids on the premises of Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu continue for 4th day

Ranchi (Jharkhand), 9 December: Cash worth more than Rs 300 crore has been recovered from the hideouts of Congress Rajya Sabha member from Jharkhand, Dheeraj Sahu and his close associates. These locations include ten locations in Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal.

The IT raid continued for the fourth day on Saturday. CISF personnel were also present along with the IT team. Three bags were also recovered from Dheeraj Sahu’s residence on Radium Road in Ranchi. However, information about what is in it has not been given yet.

The Income Tax Department’s raid at Dheeraj Sahu’s residence in Lohardaga has ended.

It has been told that the team of officials of Income Tax Department of Odisha has returned in four vehicles with many bags filled with important documents. Information about what is in that bag has not been given yet. However, it is estimated that these bags contain cash and many important documents.

Income Tax Department Director General Sanjay Bahadur told the media that the cash is so much that it will take two more days to count it. Only after this can official information be given.

It is noteworthy that the IT team had started raids on the morning of December 6 at 10 locations of companies related to Congress Rajya Sabha member Dheeraj Sahu in Jharkhand, Odisha and Bengal. The IT team counted the notes using machines and packed them in 157 bags, loaded them on a truck and transported them to the bank.

It is said that the family of MP Dheeraj Sahu is in Congress by family. His father late Baldev Sahu had received the title of Rai Saheb. At one time, during the election campaign, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi also used to stay at his residence in Lohardaga.

Dheeraj Sahu’s elder brother Shivprasad Sahu was Congress MP from Ranchi. One of his brothers, Gopal Sahu, had last contested elections from Hazaribagh. Dheeraj Sahu has a total of six brothers. Of these, former MPs Shivprasad Sahu and Nandlal Sahu have passed away.
