New Delhi, 19 December: In the INDI-Alliance meeting, the name of Mallikarjun Kharge was presented as the Prime Ministerial candidate on behalf of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and AAP Party.

Banerjee said that the alliance would benefit from proposing the name of a Dalit as Prime Minister. Although no decision was taken on this, there was no opposition to his name. Kharge himself stopped her from considering this and said that it is necessary to win the Lok Sabha elections first. The name of the Prime Minister will be considered later.

INDI Alliance, an opposition parties, held a meeting at Ashoka Hotel in Delhi on Tuesday. Further strategy, seat distribution and other topics were discussed in the meeting.

Based on the discussion held in the meeting, it is being said that these parties can finalize the seat sharing for the Lok Sabha elections in the second week of January.

Along with this, it has been decided in today’s meeting that a nationwide protest will be organized on December 22 against the suspension of 151 MPs from Parliament.

Leaders of 28 parties participated in the meeting held on Tuesday of the alliance of opposition parties formed to challenge the Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance (NDA) at the Centre. After the meeting, a press conference was also held by the alliance.

In this, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the organization of opposition parties ‘Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance’ (INDI-Alliance) is united. Together we will defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and break their pride.

He said that leaders of all 28 parties participated in the meeting and presented their views. We are all united for the Lok Sabha elections. Seat sharing issues will be resolved soon.

It is believed that the biggest challenge of the alliance is the distribution of seats at the state level. Some parties of the alliance are standing against each other in some states.

Sources say that first the seat sharing at the state level will be considered and if no consensus is reached then the seat sharing at the national level will be considered. Alliance leaders believe that this work will have to be done very soon as Lok Sabha elections are near.

The alliance passed a resolution against the suspension of MPs from Parliament in the meeting. In the press conference, Kharge said that the Modi government has suspended 151 MPs. He thinks that what he is doing is right but it is not so. The attitude of the ruling party is not good towards the opposition. The issue of all the suspended MPs was also discussed in today’s meeting. On this issue, all our parties together will hold a nationwide protest on 22nd December.

Kharge said that we have all come together to save democracy. We raised the issue of security breach in Parliament. We should have got an answer on this issue but the opposition MPs were thrown out of the house.

After leaving the meeting, the leaders expressed their views while talking to the media.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the name of the convener was not decided in the meeting.

RJD leader Manoj Jha said that seat distribution and grassroots level contact campaign will start in the next 20 days.
