India closes all mode of transport with Bangladesh

Kolkata, August 5: The road, rail and air links between India and Bangladesh have been closed at present. Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport has also been closed till 11 pm on Monday night.

All train and bus services between India and Bangladesh have been closed for the last few days. After the latest developments in Bangladesh today, all routes for India-Bangladesh travel have been closed since Monday afternoon, due to which people in the border areas of both the countries are worried.

Due to the political turmoil in Bangladesh, many families there are worried about their safety and want to come to India, but in the current situation it is not possible. More than three hundred cargo trucks ready to come to India from the border are stranded.

The Land Port Authority of India (LPAI) has closed the Petrapole border, due to which both commercial and passenger transport have stopped.

On Monday, all Indian airlines including Air India and Indigo have stopped their services to Bangladesh. It is not possible to continue air service due to the closure of Shahjalal International Airport.
