New Delhi, 20 September: In view of the increasing anti-India activities and politically supported crimes and violence in Canada, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory to Indian citizens present there and planning to travel, advising them to exercise extreme caution.
The Ministry of External Affairs said on Wednesday that Indian diplomats in Canada and Indians who oppose the ongoing agenda against India are being targeted. In such a situation, Indian citizens are advised to avoid travelling to areas and possible places in Canada where such incidents have occurred.
The ministry said that our High Commission and Consulate will remain in touch with Canadian authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of the Indian community in Canada. In view of the deteriorating security environment in Canada, Indian students in particular are advised to exercise the utmost caution and remain alert.
According to the ministry, Indian citizens and Indian students in Canada should register with the High Commission of India in Ottawa or the Consulates General of India in Toronto and Vancouver through their respective websites or the Madad portal (madad.gov.in).
Registration will enable the High Commission and Consulate General to better connect with Indian nationals in Canada in case of any emergency or untoward incident.
