India records 756 new Covid cases, 5 deaths

New Delhi, 07 Jan: According to statistics released on Sunday by the union Health Ministry, 756 persons tested positive for Covid-19 in the previous 24 hours.

With the discovery of additional cases, the country’s overall caseload increased to 4,50,18,134. Cases with JN.1 Covid variant were among them.

Data show that 297 new cases were recorded from Karnataka, 154 from Maharashtra, and 106 from Kerala. Ten incidents have been recorded in the nation’s capital.

According to statistics, the death toll has risen to 5,33,392 as five more people died from sickness. Two people were killed in Maharashtra, two in Kerala, and one in Jammu & Kashmir.

On the bright side, 889 persons recovered from illness, bringing the total to 4,44,80,693. The success percentage is 98.81%. There are now 4,049 active Covid cases in the nation.
