New Delhi, April 15: Luv Aggarwal, Joint Secretary Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed in a press conference on Wednesday that 170 districts of the country have been declared hotspots or Red Zone as these districts of the country are worst-hit by coronavirus (Covid-19)infection.
However, there are 207 more districts in the country where corona cases have been found, briefed Luv Aggarwal.
Though, these districts have been divided into three parts in view of prevention from spreading of the corona infection, informed Agrawal.
Briefing the media persons, Luv Aggarwal apprised that among these, the Red Zone and the hotspot are the districts where the highest numbers of corona cases have been reported and cases are increasing at double the speed. On the other hand, there are other non-hotspot districts where some cases of corona have been reported. The third is the Green Zone where there has not been a single case of corona.
Luv Aggarwal, joint secretary in the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, said on Wednesday that a detailed plan has been prepared to deal with corona in all red zone or hotspot districts.
He said that a complete lockdown will remain in place at these locations. Even the movement of people at these areas will be completely barred. Door to door survey, testing and contact tracing are being done on a war footing at these places in order to break the chain of outbreak of corona infection.
Luv Aggarwal said that 207 such districts have also been identified in the country where one or more cases of corona have been reported. Containment plan is also applicable in these districts. With this, all districts have been asked to prepare a crisis management plan to combat with highly contagious pathogen at the district level. Health workers are being trained at the district level. The district administration has been instructed to make centres at all levels and also to prepare and maintain hospitals for corona patients.
He further said that war with Corona is possible only when the efforts of all come together, even if one district fails in this work, then it will be failure of the entire country.
There will be no relief before April 20 in Corona-affected districts in Lockdown-2. That is, there is no relief in 377 districts of the country till 3 May. In the remaining districts, some relaxation shall be given as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Home Affairs, said officer.
