New Delhi, 30 May: Chief of the Indian Armed Forces (CDS) General Anil Chauhan has said that India’s forces are on the path of major changes and the blueprint for creating theater commands by merging the three services is in the final stages.

At the passing out parade of the 144th course of NDA in Pune on Tuesday, the CDS said that we are witnessing a new revolution in military affairs, which is mostly technology driven.

Addressing the cadets at the passing out parade of 144th course of NDA at Khadakwasla, Pune, CDS General Anil Chauhan said that the global security situation is not good at present and the international geo-political order is in shaky ground. The war in Europe, the continued deployment of the Chinese Army along our northern borders and the political and economic turmoil in our immediate neighborhood are posing a different challenge to the Indian Army. India’s forces are determined to uphold the legitimacy of our claims on the LoC (Line of Control).

CDS General Anil Chauhan said that the forces play a constructive role in maintaining peace and stability not only in our immediate neighbourhood, but also in the distant neighbourhood.

He said that we are also witnessing a new revolution in military affairs, which is mostly technology driven. General Chauhan said that India’s armed forces are also on the path of a major transformation, we are preparing to create jointness, integration and theater commands.

A total of 386 cadets passed out in the 144th course of NDA and were awarded degrees from Jawaharlal Nehru University.

He said that I am happy that you have chosen to shoulder the same responsibilities as your male brothers to protect the national interest.

General Anil Chauhan released the NDA song ‘Bharat Maa Tujhe Salaam’ to mark the completion of 75 years of the establishment of NDA. The song embodies the ethos of the academy, the spirit of sacrifice and reinforces the dedication of the armed forces to the nation.
