New Delhi, 06 November: India is also creating its own ‘rocket force’ to give a befitting reply to China. India is considering including ballistic missiles with a range of 1,500 kilometers in its rocket force. Armies can select from the existing fleet of ballistic missiles at Strategic Forces Command for conventional use.
The aim of creating the rocket force is to strengthen India’s medium-range strike capability, which is already possessed by neighboring countries Pakistan and China.
Amid ongoing military and diplomatic efforts to reduce tension on the eastern Ladakh border, China has deployed a large number of ‘Rocket Force’ near the LAC. China has already had the most confidence in its rocket force.
The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) created this rocket force separately in 2016, because China has the largest stockpile of rockets in the world.
To respond to China’s ‘Rocket Force’, India has deployed Special Forces, which played an important role in the Balakot surgical strike, on the Ladakh border. Para Special Force units from different places of the country have been moved to Ladakh.
Along with this, to give a befitting reply to China, India has also decided to create a separate ‘Rocket Force’, because India also has a stock of the world’s best missiles.
The plan to create a rocket force is a clear indication that India will use surface-to-surface missiles on a large scale during a limited war. That is why India envisages creating a rocket force based on its missile development and production ecosystem.
The Indian Defense Forces are considering including ballistic missiles with a range of about 1,500 kilometers in this rocket force. Recently the Defense Ministry has approved the acquisition of Pralay ballistic missiles.
The aim of creating the rocket force is to strengthen India’s medium-range strike capability, which is already possessed by neighboring countries Pakistan and China. The Pralay missiles are currently being mass produced, expected to be ready for operational service soon, according to officials.
The missile guidance system includes state-of-the-art navigation and integrated avionics. Pralay is a semi-ballistic surface-to-surface missile. This advanced missile has been developed to counter interceptor missiles. It has the ability to change its path after traveling a certain distance in the air.
