New Delhi, 15 January: An IndiGo pilot, who was assaulted by a passenger inside the aircraft, causing widespread outrage and condemnation on social media, has filed a case against the passenger.
The incident occurred on a flight bound for Goa from Delhi, while the pilot was making an announcement about a delay. A video of the altercation went viral, showing the passenger, Sahil Kataria, physically assaulting the pilot in a fit of anger.
Despite Kataria’s later apology, the pilot refused to accept it and filed a complaint with the Delhi Police. The delay on the flight was attributed to Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms and heavy fog and traffic congestion at the airport.
The co-pilot, Anup Kumar, along with security personnel filed a complaint against Kataria for misbehaving and assaulting him during the flight.
This incident has raised concerns about the safety of airline crew and the need for stricter measures against unruly passengers.
