Lucknow, June 5: Three minor boys were inspired by a famous web series and attempted to rob a jeweller’s shop in the state capital’s Madioan area. The three defendants, ages 15, 16, and 17, have been detained.
Harsh Maheshwari, a jeweller, said he was in his shop when three young boys on motorcycles arrived and asked Harsh to show them jewellery. The youths then pointed gun at Harsh, threatening to shoot him, and tried to rob him. The shop owner’s alarm, however, made the youngsters apprehensive, and they left. Harsh afterwards filed a police report in Madioan.
Ashutosh Kumar, assistant commissioner of police in Aliganj, who headed the inquiry, stated that over the course of the investigation, police received images of miscreants from CCTV installed at Harsh’s business as well as from other locations in order to establish a link.
Following confirmation, authorities distributed information about the suspects’ images to a network of informers.”The three was apprehended and interrogated. “They admitted to their crime and revealed that they wanted to earn quick money so that they could travel to foreign countries like Phuket Island and lavishly celebrate their birthdays,” the officer stated.
“The trio confessed about their failed plan to loot gold and silver ornaments from the shop and admitted that they threatened to kill the shop owner,” Kumar added. Three of them are Class 8 dropouts whose parents were unaware of their actions.
