Islamic Center of India extends Namaaz time on Holi after the CM Yogi’s appeal in UP

Lucknow, March 13: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s appeal to coordinate the time of Namaaz on the second Friday of Ramadan in view of Holi festival has had an effect. Islamic Center of India’s president and religious leader Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali has extended the time of Friday Namaz.

Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangi Mahali said in a press conference on Thursday that as Holi festival is on Friday, March 14. The second Friday of Ramadan is also on the same day. Islamic Center of India has extended the time of Friday Namaaz by issuing an advisory in this regard.

Firangi Mahali said that while we are changing the time of Friday Namaz, our Hindu brothers have also changed the time of Holi procession at many places. This is the identity of mutual harmony.

It is noteworthy that in view of the Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh, most mosque committees have decided to put tarpaulin on the mosques. As a result, tarpaulin or sheets are being put on mosques. On the occasion of Holi, security arrangements are also being made around mosques on the instructions of the state’s Director General of Police Prashant Kumar.

The police is taking special vigilance in Sambhal district on the occasion of Holi. Ten mosques, including Sambhal’s Jama Masjid, have been covered with foil. The mosque will remain covered for 24 hours after the Holi Chaupai procession passes through there. In view of the Jama Masjid controversy, the police has put up a tight vigil around the mosque on Holi.
