Moradabad, 24 December: Eventually, after assurance of security, the Jain temple which was closed for 39 years in Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh has also been opened. People of Jain community will now renovate this temple. The husband of the village head ( Gram Pradhan) has taken the responsibility of its cleanliness. People of the community had migrated here after robbery and vandalism in 1985.
In-charge Inspector of Pakbara police station Vinod Kumar said on Tuesday that the Jain temple built in Ratanpur Kalan village was closed for 39 years. Now it has been opened. The regional outpost in-charge has asked the husband of the village head to get the temple premises cleaned.
He told that many people of Jain community came here on Monday to know the condition of Jain temple situated in Ratanpur Kalan. Among these people was Pradeep Jain, a resident of Mahanagar, born in Ratanpur Kalan village and his nephew Ashu Jain. Seeing the condition of the ancestral village and the temple, both of them were teary eyed. After this, people of Jain community reached the police post and talked to the post in-charge to restore the temple to its original form.
The police assured cooperation and security in the renovation of the temple.
The police called the husband of the village head, Najakat, on the spot and told him to clean the temple premises. People of Jain community will renovate the temple, so that this religious place can be given its previous form.
In this regard, Pradeep Jain tells that Vaishya, Sunar and Jain families lived more in this village. In the month of December 1985, after a dispute in Ratanpur Kalan, miscreants robbed the houses of Jains and Vaishyas. Due to the terror of miscreants, more than 50 families of Jains, Vaishyas and Sunars migrated from the village. Due to no one living here, the temple was buried under a pile of garbage. The temple is still telling the story of the terror that happened 39 years ago. The entire temple is in ruins and people also throw garbage here.
