Jaunpur, August 6: In an encounter with the joint police team of Sikrara and
Baksha police stations, a miscreant was injured by a bullet in his leg.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Rural Shailendra Kumar Singh said that during vehicle
checking on Monday night, the accused Rajneesh Yadav son of Arvind Yadav
resident of Mohuddipur Jaheerganj village police station Purakalandar, district
Ayodhya was injured in retaliatory firing. The second accused Rajan Sonkar son
of Rajendra Sonkar resident of Chaura Bazar police station district Jaunpur
escaped taking advantage of the darkness.
He told that one country-made pistol of 315 bore, one
live cartridge, two shells and a Pulsar motor cycle (without number plate) have
been recovered from the injured accused. The injured accused has been sent to
the hospital for treatment. A case has been registered and legal action is
being taken.
