Kanpur, October 20: A rubber trader in Kanpur used to give a bill slip, which went viral on various social media platforms, to his customer that reads ‘Islam is the only solution’.
However, the police have arrested a trader within a few hours and is being questioned as to what was his intention behind doing so. At present, the police is giving the official statement only that the shopkeeper is being detained for questioning.
DCP East Pramod Kumar informed that today a slip was going viral in social media, in which ‘Islam is the only solution’ is written. Due to the issue of religious propaganda, the police of all the stations were alerted from the intelligence department and the shop was searched and said that it is illegal to write such jihadi language in the bill slip.
He told that this shop belongs to a rubber trader located on Meston Road. In the bill slip of the shop, the mobile number of the businessman is written at the place of the business establishment which was going to be switched off and below it ‘Islam is the only solution’ is written.
โThe police have detained a rubber trader at Meston Road for questioning. Action will be taken on the basis of information received after inquiry and investigation,โ he said.
The DCP said that it is also discussed in the social media that many businessmen of Kanpur are giving such slips, for which the Local Intelligence Unit (LIU) has been activated to know the truth. If there is any gang closed conspiracy behind this, then legal action will be taken after investigation.
