It has been 6 days since actor John Abraham’s film ‘The Diplomat’ was released in theaters, but it seems to be struggling to attract audiences at the box office. The film has not earned even half of its budget so far, which has become a matter of concern. Especially when this film, which was released on the occasion of Holi on March 14, is not getting a very good response from the audience.
On the other hand, the enthusiasm of the film ‘Chhaava’ does not seem to be decreasing. This film is constantly attracting the audience and is performing well at the box office. While ‘The Diplomat’ is struggling, ‘Chhava’ is maintaining its hold among the audience.
According to box office tracker Sacnilk, the film ‘The Diplomat’ has earned Rs 1.40 crore at the box office on its sixth day, after which the total business of the film at the domestic box office has now become Rs 17.65 crore. This figure is much less than the budget of this film, because the budget of the film was Rs 50 crore and till now it has not been able to recover even half of its cost. The film started at the box office with a collection of Rs 4.03 crore on its first day, but after that the film’s performance has been much below expectations.
Story of the film ‘The Diplomat’ is inspired by the life of Indian diplomat JP Singh, whose character is played by John Abraham. In the story, Uzma Ahmed, a resident of Delhi, befriends a Pakistani man online and then she goes to Pakistan to meet him, but there the man forcibly marries Uzma and imprisons her. In this difficult time, she meets JP Singh, who tries his best and puts his heart and soul into bringing her back to India from Pakistan. In the film, JP Singh’s role and his tale of struggles have been depicted on the big screen.
