Junior doctors’s protest continues for the 2nd day at KGMU and Lohia Institute

Lucknow, 13 August: The protest of junior doctors of King George Medical University (KGMU) over the brutal murder of a doctor in Kolkata continued for the second day on Tuesday. Due to the junior doctors joining the protest, the OPD services of KGMU are affected while emergency services are running smoothly.

Due to the protest, only senior doctors are in charge of the OPD of KGMU. The Teachers Association of KGMU has also come in support of the junior doctors.

At the same time, junior doctors are also on strike in Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) over doctor’s killing in Kolkata. Due to this, OPD services are affected in Lohia Institute as well, while emergency services are running smoothly.

Due to the junior doctors going on strike, the Lohia Institute administration has cancelled the leave of the doctors who had sought leave and they have been asked to return the institute.
