Kanpur, 31st January: A two-member committee has been constituted at the government level to probe the electric bus accident that took place in the rail market of the district on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday.
Kanpur Zone’s ADG Bhanu Bhaskar is also in the committee constituted under the leadership of Urban Development Secretary Anil Kumar. Urban Development Secretary Anil Kumar will reach Kanpur from Lucknow tonight to investigate the matter.
However, this committee will submit the report to the government after conducting a quick inquiry. Along with this, point-wise investigation of the bus accident will be done by the administration at the local level. Divisional Commissioner Rajasekhar gave this information.
Rajasekhar told reporters that six people have lost their lives in an accident involving an electronic bus on contract basis while seven people were injured. The dead have been identified. At the same time, proper treatment of the injured is being done in the hospitals. Two injured are undergoing treatment at Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital and one is in Krishna Hospital. All three are out of danger. At the same time, four other injured have been discharged due to their condition.
The Divisional Commissioner further told that the accident is very unfortunate. After examining this, effective steps will be taken so that this does not happen again in future. For this, the company operating the bus service Tirthankar City Bus Operations Pvt. Through this, the entire staffs recruited so far are being investigated. Their complete history and family details will also be kept in the investigation. Along with this, now the health related check-up of the employees will be done in six months. Drivers above the age of 50 years will be given eye check-up in three months. Necessary steps will also be taken regarding speed limit. Financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh is being provided to the family of the deceased, Rs 1 lakh to the seriously injured and Rs 50,000 to other injured.
The Divisional Commissioner said that the conductor has told that the driver was intoxicated during interrogation.
