New Delhi, 27 August: The Lieutenant Governor (LG) office of Delhi has returned 47 files signed by the employees of Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) instead of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The LG office informed about the move on Saturday. It is likely to intensify the tussle between the two constitutional authorities in the capital.
The development comes almost a week after Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena wrote a letter to Kejriwal, in which it was said that the CMO is sending the files without the signature of Chief Minister Kejriwal to the LG Secretariat for opinion and approval.
The LG office said that the various files returned by the LG Secretariat include files related to education department and other departments including Waqf Board. Sources claimed that the CMO has continued to send the files without the chief minister’s signature despite the LG raising the issue.
