Kisan Express splits into two parts in Bijnor, UP, engine runs for nearly 4 km with 13 bogies

Moradabad, August 25: Kisan Express train (13308) split into two parts near Seohara station in Bijnor district of Uttar Pradesh. The engine moved ahead about four kilometers with 13 bogies and eight coaches were left behind.

At the time of the accident, the speed of the train was 85 to 90 kilometers per hour.

According to railway officials, the train split into two parts near Raipur railway gate, located at a short distance from Seohara station of Moradabad Railway Division, early Sunday morning. Kisan Express was running late by about an hour and a quarter. He told that when Kisan Express left Dhampur station and reached near Raipur village of Seohara area, suddenly the coupling of bogie number S-3 and S-4 broke.

Due to this, the eight bogies behind including bogie S-4 stopped there, while 13 bogies moved ahead for about four kilometers with the engine.The 13308 Down Kisan Express train going from Firozpur to Dhanbad reaches Dhampur railway station at 02:22 in the night, which reached at about 3:35 on Saturday night with a delay of 1:13 minutes. After this, it left for Seohara station at 3:38 after stopping for 3 minutes. The accident happened before reaching Seohara station.

The pressure in all the bogies remains the same while the train is running. If the coupling breaks or there is any other problem, the pressure suddenly breaks, due to which the driver comes to know when the emergency brake is applied. When the coupling broke near village Raipur early on Sunday, the train driver KK Rastogi came to know due to the reduced pressure, but by the time the brake was applied, the train had already reached about four kilometers away.

On the arrival of the officials, the bogie with the broken coupling was separated and the other bogies were joined and the train was sent towards its destination at 7:35 in the morning, after about three to four hours.More than 200 candidates of the constable recruitment exam were sent by three buses -More than 200 candidates were coming to Moradabad and Bareilly to take the UP constable recruitment exam by Kisan Express going from Firozpur to Dhanbad. The train had left properly from Dhampur railway station to Seohara station, but before reaching Seohara station, an accident occurred and the Kisan Express was divided into two parts due to the coupling breaking.

The candidates created a ruckus due to the fear of missing the exam due to the train breaking down. On this, the police-administration officials sent about 200 candidates from outside the village in three roadways buses.
