Prayagraj, 16 October: Allahabad High Court has accepted the appeals against the death sentence awarded to Surendra Koli and Maninder Singh Pandher by CBI Court Ghaziabad in the Nithari case.

Since the allegations could not be proved beyond doubt, he was declared innocent and acquitted.

Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra and Justice S. H.A. Rizvi’s division bench had reserved its decision on the appeals after a long debate. The verdict was announced on Monday October 16.

An appeal has been filed against the death sentence imposed on Koli in more than a dozen cases for brutally murdering and raping dozens of girls.

Pandher has also been awarded death sentence in three cases. Girls from Nithari village were brought to Pandher’s house in Noida and murdered.
