Kolkata, August 29: There has been a new twist in the case of the suspicious death of a female doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. On Thursday afternoon, an alleged audio clip related to this incident became public, in which excerpts of the phone call made from the hospital to the doctor’s parents are heard. Although “The Lucknow Journal” does not confirm the authenticity of this audio clip, but it has brought the matter back into discussion.
On August 9, the body of a female doctor was recovered from RG Kar Hospital. After the incident, the doctor’s parents were called twice. In the first call, they were told that your daughter is ill, and then after some time in the second call it was said that your daughter has committed suicide. The victim’s parents had already filed a complaint in the Calcutta High Court regarding this matter and their lawyer also reiterated the same thing. Now the audio of this phone call has been made public, which seems to confirm these statements.
In the audio, a woman’s voice is heard, who claims that she is speaking from the hospital. Along with this woman’s voice, the voice of a man and another woman is also heard. It is being claimed that this call is of a conversation with the victim’s parents. However, the doctor’s parents said about this audio that they do not know anything about it and they did not take responsibility for this audio. They also said that they do not know anything about the source of this audio. The doctor’s father said, “We are not watching anything in the media. We have not turned on the TV.”

In this clip, a woman says, “His health has deteriorated a bit. Can you come quickly?” After this, the male voice (which is believed to be of the victim’s father) asks, “What has happened?” The woman again says, “His health is bad. We have admitted him. Can you come immediately?” The men ask, “What happened, will you tell us?” The woman replies, “The doctor will tell us when you come. We found your number and informed you to come early as a member of the household.”
Second audio clip
In this clip, the same woman says, “I am Assistant Super speaking, I am not a doctor.” The men ask, “There is no doctor there?” The woman replies, “We have taken your daughter to the emergency. You come and contact.”
Third audio clip
In this clip, the same woman says, “She has probably committed suicide or she is dead. The police is here. We are in front of everyone in the hospital and calling.”
After this incident, the victim’s parents had alleged that they were given ‘wrong information’ from the hospital. Their questions were why they were first told that their daughter was ill and later that she had ‘committed suicide’ when in reality she was raped and murdered.
After this audio surfaced, the matter has heated up again. In the court, the victim’s family lawyer and CPM MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya had also said that first the family was called and told that “your daughter is ill,” and later it was said that “your daughter has committed suicide.” The state government had also admitted that the family was called twice. However, the state did not give any clear statement in the court on what was said in the phone call.
Now that this audio clip has brought new life to the whole case. Questions are being raised whether any new action will be taken in this case and whether the role of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital will be investigated or not.
