Lucknow, September 06: Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath held a meeting with Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Kushinagar district on Sunday regarding the upcoming International Airport.
Yogi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the construction of the International Airport in Kushinagar and said that the Prime Minister has accepted the demand that was prolonged for more than twenty years and has given his nod for the construction of the International Airport in Kushinagar district. International Air Service will also start operating from this airport within the next two months.
UP prosperous in terms of Buddhist circuit
The Chief Minister said that Kushinagar is the focal point of Buddhist Circuit. A large number of Buddhist followers from across the World come here.
โKushinagar is the Mahaparinirvana site of Lord Buddha. Uttar Pradesh is a prosperous state in terms of Buddhist circuit. 06 major places are associated with the memories of Lord Buddha in Uttar Pradesh, with Kushinagar being his Mahaparinirvana site,โ CM told.
Yogi further spoke, in Sarnath, Lord Buddha gave his first sermon. Kapilavastu was his capital. Lord Shiva spent most of the chaturmas in Shravasti. Apart from this, Kaushambi and Sankisha are also in Uttar Pradesh. All countries of the world including Sri Lanka, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Japan, and Singapore wanted air connectivity with Kushinagar.
Speaking further, CM said that the Kushinagar International Airport is the fourth airport in the state. At present, 02 International Airports operate in the state. The International Airport is also under construction at Jewar in Gautam Budha Nagar (Noida).
Many air strips are being converted into airports
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh is getting a lot of support from Prime Minister and Union Minister of Civil Aviation Hardeep Singh Puri resulting in the rapid development in the state.
He said that air services have increased manifold. Many air strips of the state are being converted into airports in collaboration with the Government of India.
Yogi said that along with Buddhist Circuit, instructions have also been given to Gautam Budha University, Noida and Siddharth University, Siddharthnagar to plan an educational tour for international studies, on which action is underway.
Development of International Airport will speed up the pace
The Chief Minister said that the development of the state will further speed up after coming up of International Airport.
He said that along with repairing the boundary wall of the airport, barbed wire should also be installed on them and proper security arrangements should be made. For this, necessary approval has been given by the state government. Approval of four lane road to the airport has been granted.
He directed the district administration to take immediate action for the development of Kushinagar.
Guides should be prepared with better arrangements for the safety of tourists
The Chief Minister said that the Centre and the State Government are working together to advance all the possibilities of tourism in the state. The Government of Uttar Pradesh is working for the development of tourism. In Kushinagar good arrangements for tourists, better arrangements for security, as well as trained guides, etc. should be prepared, so that tourists coming here can get information about Lord Buddha.
Vipassana center should be constructed for tourists coming from outside
He said that cleanliness, development of tourism etc. should be taken up by the Divisional Commissioner Kushinagar. Vipassana centers etc. should be constructed for tourists coming from outside.
CM said that the public representatives and people of Kushinagar got a lot of cooperation in the construction of the airport. The construction of the airport will generate vast employment opportunities and will also lead to development.
He said that every cooperation will be provided by the state government in the construction of the airport.
The airport is spread over 589.35 acres
On this occasion, Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that air services have been allowed on 18 new routes in Uttar Pradesh. In addition, other airports will be built and developed.
Presenting the works of Kushinagar International Airport, Additional Chief Secretary Civil Aviation SP Goyal said that the approval cost of this airport of 589.35 acres is Rs 199.4183 crore.
