Lakhimpur Kheri, October 12: The last Ardas (tribute meeting) program was held in the district for the peace of the souls of the farmers killed in the incident on October 3.
Farmers’ leader Rakesh Tikait, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and State President Ajay Singh Lallu and other party people also reached the district to participate in this.
Meanwhile, heavy police force was deployed for the peaceful conduct of Ardas program. To monitor the program, Divisional Commissioner Ranjan Kumar has been camping in the area since late night. Apart from the Divisional Commissioner, DM Arvind Kumar Chaurasia, SP Vijay Dhul, SDM OP Gupta are also present there.
Gurmeet Singh Randhawa, Tehsil President of Bhartiya Kisan Sikh Sangathan and Tehsil President of Bhartiya Kisan Union Gurbaj Singh said that the venue was prepared by mixing the land of many farmers.
Arrangements have been made for the tribute meeting in an area of ​​about 30 acres. This venue is at a distance of one kilometer from the spot, in which arrangements have been made for pandal, parking and seating and other things.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Ardas reached the venue. During this, when she expressed her desire to address the farmers from the stage, the farmer leaders stopped her. After which Priyanka sat with the common people and prayed. Tributes were paid to the killed farmers.
Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President Jayant Chaudhary also attended the last Ardas program, but he too did not get a place on the stage. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait said that this Ardas has been kept for the peace of the soul of the dead farmers. Don’t see it as being related to politics. Along with refusing to invite the leader of any political party on the stage, the farmer leader has demanded the dismissal of Union Minister Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni from the post of minister and said that if the minister does not resign, he will announce the agitation from here itself
