Lakhimpur Kheri, 22 February: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath doled out various development projects to the district on Saturday. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of 373 development projects worth Rs 1622 crore at Rajendra Giri Memorial Stadium.
Yogi also laid the foundation stone of ‘Chhoti Kashi’ Gola Gokarnath Shiva Temple Corridor. He said that Lakhimpur Kheri is no longer a backward district, but the fertile land here spews gold.
Chief Minister said that when the country became independent, Lakhimpur Kheri was far behind in development. Malaria used to be a symbol of fear here. There was Dudhwa National Park, but there were no means to reach there. Now money has also been given to develop the air strip in Palia as an airport. The government is taking steps towards a permanent solution to the problem of floods here. For this, action will be taken to effectively implement flood prevention measures or channelize the river. There will be no hindrance from NGT or any other kind in this. The double engine government will promote development here including spiritual and eco tourism so much that there will be no dearth of employment.
He said that the extremely fertile land of Lakhimpur Kheri, which is one of the largest districts in the state in terms of area, spews gold.
He said that Lakhimpur Kheri is no longer a backward district. Today, projects worth about Rs 4500 crore have been inaugurated and foundation stone laid in this district. This also includes the corridor of Gola Gokarnath temple and the country’s first PLA plant (bio plastic manufacturing) set up by Balrampur Sugar Mill Limited. I have come here after laying the foundation stone of a plastic plant worth Rs 2850 crore in Kumbhi. Today, not only Dudhwa National Park is being built near Lakhimpur, but a medical college is also being inaugurated here. A lot of development projects will make the lives of the people of Lakhimpur Kheri easier and will also create employment. All this has happened with the cooperation of the government and the efforts of the public representatives under the guidance of Modi ji.
He said that earlier it was not linked with connectivity. There was a dilemma whether the railway line between Bahraich-Mailani will run or close, but we said that whatever money is required, we will give, it should be taken forward for tourism. It is believed that the positive steps that the railways are taking in this direction will lead to the beginning of a new era in the direction of tourism.
Yogi admiring Prime Minister Modi said that PM Modi talks about the kind of product that has been taken forward by the sisters belonging to the Tharu tribe along with keeping their culture intact. Every public representative here is associated with the development schemes. In this district, which is moving on the path of continuous development, the basic facilities of the public, availability of employment, new development projects are being increased at a fast pace under the leadership of capable public representatives.
Those who have lost their homes will get housing
Yogi said that many families had to be displaced and shops had to be removed to build the holy corridor of Baba Gokarnath. The administration was instructed that those who have lost their homes should get housing. Those who have lost their shops should be allotted shops in a systematic manner. The aim of the government is not to displace anyone, but to make the lives of the people easier with beautification and the government is moving forward by working in this direction.
Worshiped in Gola Gokarnath
Before the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also performed worship in the Gola Gokarnath Shiva temple with due rituals. He wished everyone a Happy Mahashivratri. He said in the public meeting that he has got the privilege of coming here just before Mahashivratri, worshiping Baba in Chhoti Kashi and taking forward the work of developing this temple as a corridor on the lines of Baba Vishwanath Dham.
