Lekhpal suspended over issuing mutation doc to Kanpur riot accused

Kanpur, 31 July: A lekhpal was suspended for reportedly clearing the mutation file of a five-story building in Chakeri owned by Abdul Rehman, the son of builder Haji Wasi, who is accused of being a conspirator in the June 3 Parade -Nai Sadak violence.

SDM Ghatampur Amit Omar suspended lekhpal Ajay Kushwaha on the orders of the ADM (Finance and Revenue).

He will be served with a notice, and an explanation will be sought. Ajay Kushwaha was assigned as a lekhpal to Itara in the district’s Ghatampur tehsil.

According to official sources, Ajay allowed the mutation of a five-story building in Chakeri owned by Abdul Rehman, son of builder Haji Wasi, one of the suspected conspirators in the June 3 Parade-Nai Sadak incident.

According to the reports, the assets associated to him included a five-storey building in Chakeri erected by Wasi’s son Abdul Rehman.

Despite the fact that the inquiry found that a portion of the property is on government land, the lekhpal allowed the mutation of the stated property on July 12. The ADM (Finance and Revenue) requested that the Tehsil submit its report. The lekhpal was suspended as a result of the report, said SDM Ghatampur Amit Omar. Wasi, the builder, and his son Abdul Rehman are both in prison.
