LG orders probe into death of children due to fire in Delhi hospital

Delhi, May 26: Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has ordered an inquiry into the fire incident at the children’s hospital. Along with this, he has asked the Police Commissioner to take all necessary steps. He has assured of providing help to the victims and punishing the culprits.

According to the Lieutenant Governor’s office, the Lieutenant Governor has asked the Chief Secretary to investigate the tragic incident of fire at the children’s hospital in Delhi. Expressing condolences to the bereaved families, he assured action.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that this incident of fire in the children’s hospital is heart-wrenching. We all stand with those who lost their innocent children in this accident. Government and administration officials are busy providing treatment to the injured at the incident site. The reasons for the incident are being investigated and whoever is responsible for this negligence will not be spared.

Meanwhile, politics has started on the fire incident. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that Health Secretary Deepak Kumar is not responding to his calls and messages. He said that due to lack of communication with the Principal Secretary (Health) of the Health Department, he is sending a note to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar so that a prompt investigation can be initiated in this matter.

The Health Minister said that this incident should be investigated immediately. The officials or private individuals responsible for this negligence should be identified. Free treatment of rescued children should be ensured in good private hospitals (under Farishte Scheme). Compensation should be given to the families of the dead and injured soon. The people running this center should be arrested swiftly.
