Kanpur, August 27: Due to light clouds in the next five days, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall locally with strong winds and thunderstorms between August 27 to 31. This is the forecast received from Kanpur and India Meteorological Department.
Dr SN Sunil Pandey, meteorologist of Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur, while giving information on Tuesday, said that the maximum temperature of the day was 32.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 26.6 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, if we talk about relative humidity, then 82 percent maximum and 68 percent minimum was recorded. The average wind speed was 7.2 kilometers per hour and the wind direction was north-east.
Weather system across the country
The meteorologist said that a deep pressure remains over North Gujarat. It will move slowly in the west south-west direction in the Gujarat region. It is then likely to reach Saurashtra, Kutch coast and adjoining areas of Pakistan and northeast Arabian Sea by 29th August morning.
The well-marked low pressure area which was over Jharkhand and adjoining areas has moved further in west northwest direction and is now seen as a low pressure area over the same region. It is likely to move in west northwest direction across Jharkhand and north Chhattisgarh and adjoining southeast Uttar Pradesh and weaken gradually during next 24 hours.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through the centre of deep pressure over north Gujarat, Sagar, centre of low pressure area over Jharkhand, Digha and then southeastwards across northeast Bay of Bengal. A fresh low pressure area is likely to develop over east central and adjoining north Bay of Bengal on 29th August. The offshore trough extends from south Gujarat to north Kerala coast.
