Lucknow, May 23: On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to Muslims religious scholars ( Maulvis or Ulamas) to celebrate Eid at home and read namaz while fully following the lockdown instructions and maintaining the physical distance (Social distancing).
Accelerate the work of expressway projects
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi said on Saturday that the Chief Minister said this in a meeting with senior officers. Along with this, he has asked to expedite the works of all the major projects like Ganga Expressway.
He informed that the construction cost of the Ganga Expressway is estimated at Rs 20,924 crore and expenditure of about Rs 9000 crore on land acquisition. This 16-lane expressway will connect Meerut to Prayagraj.
He informed that the work of Purvanchal Expressway is going on fast. 5535 workers and 1144 engineers and 3127 big machines are working on it.
“Similarly, 2348 workers, 625 engineers and 2370 big machines are working in the construction work of Bundelkhand Expressway. On this project 296 km of roads and more than 200 soil works are going on. With this, the construction work of Gorakhpur Link Expressway has been started,” Awasthi informed.
No Crowds to gather anywhere, increase patrolling on expressway
“The Chief Minister has directed that the rules of lockdown should be strictly followed. Ensuring that there is no congestion anywhere, ensure effective patrolling. Arrangements for supply of essential commodities to the houses in the risk zone should be ensured smoothly. Patrolling should be increased on the expressway and ambulance arrangements should also be ensured,” apprised ACS Home.
Explore possibilities of re-use of N-95 mask and PPE kit
“CM said that the possibilities of re-use of N-95 masks and PPE kits should be explored. For this, if any technology has been developed by an institute, then necessary steps should be taken while studying it. Along with this, by implementing all measures related to infection protection, except general OPD services in hospitals, operation of emergency services and necessary operation should be ensured,” told Awasthi in a regular press briefing.
New lab work started in BRD Medical College Gorakhpur
He said that the Chief Minister has said that with the test capacity to reach 10,000 tests per day, rapid procurement of equipment such as True-Net machines should be done to get fast testing results. In BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur, the work of construction of a new testing lab of Level-3 has started with the support of L&T. He informed that by the end of this month, the Chief Minister has instructed to increase the number of beds in L-1, L-2 and L-3 Covid hospitals to a total of 01 lakh.
Emergency services started in more than 2,500 private hospitals
“Emergency services are being provided by government hospitals in the state. But now emergency services have started in more than 2,500 private hospitals. Along with this, the work of vaccination is being done continuously. The young men and women of NSS, NCC, Nehru Youth Mangal Dal are being added as Covid volunteers. At the same time, an early guideline will be issued for passengers for domestic flights starting from May 25,” added ACS Home and Information.
