Balurghat, April 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who went to address a rally organised on Tuesday in support of Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Sukanta Majumdar from Balurghat Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal, listed the achievements of the central government and targeted the Trinamool Congress.
Modi said, ”Tomorrow the whole country is going to celebrate Ram Navami and this time the Ram Navami is special, the Navratri is special, and the Bengali New Year is also special. This is the first Ram Navami when Ramlala has been enthroned in the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. I know that TMC, as always, tried its best to stop the Ram Navami celebrations here, hatched all conspiracies. But truth always wins. Therefore, permission has been obtained from the court and tomorrow Ram Navami processions will be taken out with full devotion and reverence.”
About the BJP’s Sankalp Patra Modi said, “Just two days ago, on the first day of Baisakh, the BJP has presented its Sankalp Patra in front of the country. In the BJP’s Sankalp Patra, Modi has given a guarantee for the next 5 years. We will build three crore more new houses for the poor. This is Modi”s guarantee.
“We will buy solar panels at low prices for free electricity and make the electricity bill zero. This is Modi”s guarantee. The BJP government will continue to provide free ration for the next five years to keep the stove of the poor running. Every elderly person above seventy years of age will get free treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
“To increase the capacity of our daughters in Bengal, they will be given training in sectors like IT, education, health, retail and tourism. Facilities like house, water, electricity, cylinder will be provided to every poor person in the country. All these decisions will benefit the poor Dalit tribals and women of Bengal. That is why ever since Modi”s guarantee card has come, the TMC people are doubly furious.”
Accusing the TMC, Modi said, ””They feel that for so long these people were stopping Modi”s schemes from reaching the people of Bengal. They were not allowing the poor to get PM housing. They were not allowing the mission of water for every house to reach the villages. The Centre used to send MNREGA money and they used to stop it. Now they feel that Modi has guaranteed that the schemes will reach every poor. If the poor of Bengal will get the benefit of Modi”s work, the poor will move forward, then the TMC”s shop will be closed. And that is why these people have resorted to spreading lies and rumours.”
Speaking about Bengal and Balurghat, the PM said, ”Bengal and Balurghat have given so much to the country. The country is indebted to the sacrifice and sacrifice of the tribal society here. Who can forget the sacrifice of young Jurka Murmu in the Bangladesh war.”
Modi further said, ”Today the BJP is fighting for the respect of the tribals and Dalits here. It is the BJP government which has started celebrating the Tribal Pride Day in honour of the tribal society. Our government opened eight new Eklavya residential schools for tribal children in Bengal and it is the BJP which has made Draupadi Murmu ji the first woman tribal president of the country. On the other hand, there is a party like the TMC which wants to keep Dalit and tribal women hostage. In this Balurghat, when three tribal women joined the BJP, TMC goons had come there. TMC people forced those women to sit on their knees and apologize. The TMC feels that Dalits, tribals and the poor are not free to act according to their will. But this election told them that in Baba Saheb Ambedkar’s democracy, Dalits, deprived and tribals are not and will not remain slaves of TMC. TMC, this entire TMC, which forced tribal women to kneel, will soon come to its knees.”
Targeting the opponents, Modi said, ”The Left and TMC governments deliberately deprived the border areas like Balurghat, where there are more Dalits and tribals, of development. They did not let the essential facilities for life reach here. They did not allow good hospitals to open. They did not allow employment opportunities to be created. A large number of youth here have to leave their homes. But in the last 10 years, despite all the opposition from TMC, BJP has made every possible effort for the development of Balurghat and Bengal. BJP is developing Balurghat station as Amrit Bharat station. Just in January, the BJP NDA government has started a new train to connect Sealdah from here. The train running from Bhatinda to Malda has also been connected to Balurghat. The central government has also made a lot of efforts for Balurghat airport. But the TMC government here does not have the intention to build an airport here. Despite TMC”s opposition, in the next 5 years, the BJP government will make every effort for the development of Bengal and Balurghat. This is Modi”s guarantee. This entire region will get modern trains like Vande Bharat and good highways.”
Modi further said, ”A big reason for the backwardness of Dinajpur region is the expectations of its farmers and artisans. The handloom yarn of Gangarampur, the wooden statues made by the artists here are praised everywhere. The farmers here grow jute which fulfills the country”s needs. After so many decades, it is the BJP government that has taken care of jute farmers and artists.
BJP has started PM Vishwakarma Yojana for artisans and handicraftsmen of eighteen traditional businesses like potters, blacksmiths, basket makers, mat makers. Rs 13000 crore is being spent on this so that their talent gets recognition. Their work increases and their income increases. Our own government had put bamboo in the category of grass so that people earning their livelihood from it do not have trouble in cutting bamboo.
For jute farmers, we have more than doubled the MSP of jute in the last 10 years. We have increased the use of jute for packaging of sugar, grains and many other things so that the consumption of jute increases and my jute farmers get benefits. We have also started the Jute Eye Care Scheme for jute farmers, which is benefiting more than three lakh farmers of Bengal. The TMC government of Bengal has become a den of tolabaz, criminals and corrupt people. BJP workers are murdered here every day. Some time ago, our booth president was murdered in Balurghat.””
Speaking on the Sandeshkhali incident, Modi said, ””The whole country is shocked by the atrocities and exploitation of women in Sandeshkhali. The country also saw how the TMC government was trying to save the Sandeshkhali criminal till the end. TMC is openly playing the game of corruption in Bengal. Government contracts have become the business of TMC goons. Even in the recruitment of primary teachers, scams are taking place. When raids are conducted at the residences of ministers in the government, crores of rupees in cash are recovered. When agencies go to take action against the corrupt, they are attacked. TMC has, in a way, leased Bengal to illegal intruders and criminals. That is why it gives protection to intruders and opposes the law that legally grants citizenship to refugees. TMC has to be punished for its sins by pressing the lotus button. The coming 26th April is a big opportunity for the future of Bengal. Sukanta Majumdar has worked day and night for the development of this place in the last five years. This time you have to make him win with record votes.”
