Lucknow, June 01: Voting is underway on in 13 seats of UP from 7 am today on Saturday in the seventh phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. A total of 46.83 percent voting has taken place on these seats till three o’clock. The highest voting has been recorded in Chandauli at 51.27 percent while the lowest voting has been recorded in Salempur seat at 43.48 percent. There are queues of voters at the polling stations and peaceful voting is going on.
According to the data released by the Election Commission, in the 13 Lok Sabha general constituencies of UP where voting is being held in the seventh phase, till 3 pm, Maharajganj has recorded 51.16 percent voting, Gorakhpur 44.69 percent, Kushinagar 48.33 percent, Deoria 47.32 percent, Bansgaon (reserved) 43.71 percent, Ghosi 44.82 percent, Salempur 43.48 percent, Ballia 43.54 percent, Ghazipur 46.13 percent, Chandauli 51.27 percent, Varanasi 48.38 percent, Mirzapur 48.81 percent and Robertsganj (reserved) 47.15 percent voting. There are queues of voters at the polling stations since morning. In the by-election being held on Duddhi (reserved) assembly seat, 48.28 percent voting has taken place. Amid tight security on all seats, voters will exercise their franchise till 6 pm.
A total of 144 candidates are in the fray in the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of the seventh and last phase, of which 134 are men and 10 are women.
In the seventh phase, the highest number of 28 candidates are in Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency and the lowest number of 07 candidates are in Deoria and Varanasi Lok Sabha constituencies. There are 02 crore 50 lakh 56 thousand 877 voters, who will decide the fate of 144 candidates including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
